Tips for managing stress
Remember, finding what works best for you might take some time. Try a few of these tips to see what helps you sleep better and feel more at ease. Improving your sleep and well-being is an ongoing process, so be patient with yourself and keep exploring what works best for you.
Talk to someone: Share what’s on your mind with a trusted friend, family member, or therapist. Talking about your stressors can lighten your mind and make it easier to relax before bed.
Spend time in nature: Being in nature can calm your mind and body. Take walks in parks, gardens, or enjoy the outdoors to prepare your mind for better sleep.
Try creative activities: Doing creative things like crafting, painting, or knitting can help you relax and unwind. This can take your mind off stress.
Tips for managing stress
Stay active: regular exercise, like walking, jogging, or yoga, reduces stress and helps you sleep better.
Connect with Others: Spend time with loved ones to feel supported and connected. Positive social interactions can reduce stress and improve sleep.
Listen to Calming Music: Soft, soothing music can help you relax before bedtime. Create a calming playlist for better sleep.
Tips for managing stress
Practise mindfulness: Try meditation or deep breathing exercises. These can help you to manage stress and promote relaxation before sleep.
See a professional: If stress is feeling too much to handle or interfering with your sleep, consider talking to a professional who can provide expert guidance and support.
Seek support from your kidney care team: Your kidney care team can help provide support, resources and guidance on your kidney journey. Your care team should comprise of your GP, social worker, dietitian and CKD nurse educator.
