Living with Stage 4–5 CKD

Living with Stage 4–5 CKD

Reaching Stage 4 or 5 chronic kidney disease (CKD) means your kidneys are working at a lower level, but there’s still a lot you can do to stay informed, feel supported, and make choices that reflect what matters to you.

This course is here to help you understand what’s happening in your body and what symptoms may arise. We will discuss what your treatment options are, including dialysis, transplant, or supportive care. Whether you’ve just received a diagnosis or are preparing for what’s next, this course can guide you at your own pace.

You don’t have to figure it all out at once. This is about giving you the tools, language, and support to make informed decisions with your care team.

What You’ll Learn

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

  • Understand what Stage 4–5 CKD means and how it affects your body
  • Recognise common symptoms and how to manage them
  • Explore treatment pathways including dialysis, transplant, and conservative care
  • Reflect on your values and start planning ahead with your care team
